Welcome to your sleep aid. Hope you enjoy your stay, and please pretend I'm saying these RCT2 descriptions after this in an ASMR voice of your choosing. I've been told my mouse movements are relatively smooth. I can't guarantee the same for my camera movements.

This level is pretty...rough since your best ride is all the way in the back and you can only build on either side of the massive ravine(and in it as long as it's not on the ground). I just gave up on the chairlifts and monorails and made an extremely expensive path through the middle instead. It helps a bit to reduce the crowding for the peeps, and stops them from getting lost or struggling to find the entrance of a ride.

I actually already finished the remaining RCT2 levels by the time of writing this(once again, very limited by upload speed here, and there's only like 12 more) because I've got way too much free time currently, and this game basically plays itself, so I can do other things on a separate monitor. I do start to remember all the little tricks here and there as I play more levels, and ‪@MarcelVos‬ has videos breaking down nearly everything about the game, so feel free to check him out! The wiki has explanations for everything, though you do need to know what you're looking for. I've written some general handy little tips below if you care to read a wall of text:

Every ride type has minimum requirements and you will have stat penalties for not reaching them. Wooden Coasters need a 9 meter(29feet) drop, a max speed above 36km/h(22mph), a total ride length of at least 370 meters(1214 feet) and a MAXIMUM of .10 negative Gs. Marcel wrote them all out here: https://old.reddit.com/r/LordMarcel/comments/78maqk/rct2_table_with_the_minimum_stat_requirements_for/

Custom coasters are fun to make, but they also take a lot of time to make, and it's good have to have some handy prebuilts like the Corkscrew booster launch with a single Corkscrew as an extremely cheap budget option that can generate a lot of cash or guests early. I try not to abuse using more than 4 of these so I can get started making what I actually want to make earlier.

Some levels have "difficult guest generation" enabled Here's a link explaining it: https://forums.openrct2.org/topic/2861-guide-when-and-how-do-guests-spawn/

Always be using those slanted turns to avoid too many lateral Gs! Build with this in mind! I didn't understand when I was younger why my intensity was 30+ and what the red numbers meant. You can check a rides G forces, both negative and lateral, during test runs in their respective tabs so you can find where your builds went wrong.

The RCT2 levels generally have either park entrance fees or ride fees enabled. If you have a park entrance fee park, DO NOT BUILD A CASH MACHINE. You WANT your guests to run out of money and leave so they come back and give you more money. You will very likely go bankrupt if you build cash machines in a park entrance fee scenario! Check your guests to see their minimum cash possible, and set your entrance fee slightly less than that so they can keep buying tickets into the park. For ride fees, a general rule of thumb I use is to charge the excitement rating minus 10% or so for scenarios that charge money for rides, with a higher percentage for older rides. They lose value over time, though OpenRCT2 lets you refurbish rides to make them "new" again.

Advertise, Advertise, ADVERTISE! It's broken. You can win a lot of scenarios with just advertisements alone. I just like playing the game and building rides even if I have everything I need to win with advertisements, but leaving the game on Turbo Speed and just spamming Advertisements for 10 minute doesn't make for a good viewing experience. Neither does just posting raw gameplay content like I've been doing, but to be fair, it's free content!

I'd recommend reviewing the shortcut hotkeys list for the most important hotkeys. I do start using the ride build(F5) and see-through hotkeys more as I play since crowded parks mean lots of broken benches you need to find due to angry guests.

If random handymen, mechanics, or entertainers aren't enough, you can set them to patrol specific zones, which becomes more and more useful as there are more guests in the park.

Security guards only stop vandals in a small space. They're not worth using unless it's impossible to not have an angry guest in a spot. You also don't need entertainers, but they help. Handymen and mechanics are your guys!

Hitting char limit, so one last tip: Have Fun! It's a game meant to be relaxing. Don't feel the need to optimize and stress out. Build things how you want, and enjoy it!

Feel free to support the devs for amazing QoL/continued support for a 20+ year old game that formed a core memory for many people's childhoods. Chris Sawyer, you're awesome for making this game, and the OpenRCT2 team is awesome for modernizing it.
