It's outerspace! And it's full of fury! The name of the game is Outerspace Fury, and while it might not exactly be a furious frenzy of fury, it still makes for a fun game.

At first glance, you might think that Outerspace Fury is simply a clone of Asteroids. Now, while that may be marginally true, it updates on the old classic by adding various new features to make for an exciting and fun new game.

The graphics are mostly simply, with spacecraft flying about and blaster shots flailing about everywhere. However, the graphics aren't simple sprites sliding about the screen. No, each spaceship animates nicely, be it spinning about in the void, or tilting in the direction that it's travelling in. The graphics do get a bit repetitive after some time, but hey, it's a game about shooting wave after wave after infinite wave of bad guys, what do you really expect? For what they are, the graphics do their job more than adequately.

The sounds work just as well, though they're limited in the same fashion. Sure, the different shots all have different sounds, and the sheer number of them flying about the screen makes for some interesting chaos, but for the most part, you'll be hearing the same pew-pew laser blaster sounds time and time again. You will, however, also encounter nice little explosion sounds (which are nicely quite varied) as you blast enemy ships apart.

Unlike Asteroids, in Outerspace Fury, you're only worrying about moving around. You use your mouse to move around the playing field and the AI takes care of all the shooting. It'll automatically aim at any baddies or obstacles on the field, so all you have to worry about is dodging enemy spaceships and weaving in and out of crossfire.

While this game may be quite similar to Asteroids, it, as aforementioned, adds a lot to the field. In this game, you're not going to be shooting only at asteroids and blasting them into smaller and smaller pieces, rather, you're going to be blasting apart spacecraft that get bigger and badder as the game progresses. To help with that, as you progress you'll be able to get better blasters, pick up stronger armor, and move around much faster. And you'll definitely need those bonuses, as the levels get really hard, really quickly.

All in all, Outerspace Fury might not be quite a long-lasting game, much like Asteroids. But again, much like Asteroids, it's great fun while it lasts, and you're almost certain to have more than one moment of sheer frenzied blasting as you try to keep going.
