Ok, blatant political incorrectness and possible racism aside, Unlucky Robber is still a fun little game.

When first opening the game, you'll be presented with an Arabian Nights-esque image with a a character straight out of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Is it ridiculous? You bet. Is it fun? Surprisingly, yes.

As aforementioned, the graphics are rather evocative of the Arabian Nights. Similar to many of those tales, you play a thief. Not quite similar to those tales, you play a thief who jumps through vertical temples while clinging to walls, rotating stone cilinders, and nabbing inexplicably floating pieces of treasure. Though when stated that way, it would certainly make for an absolutely awesome Sinbad the Sailor story. Potentially amazing stories aside, the graphics of this game are for the most part adequate. They do their job well enough, and serve well for a puzzler/platformer. Granted, the graphics will get redundant at times, but honestly, how much variety can you expect to have in vertical temples with aforementioned spinning stone cilinders?

Like the graphics, the music is very Arabian Nights-y. You also get nice little sound effects whenever you jump off of or catch onto a wall or cylinder. You also get nice little sound effects when nabbing treasure. For the most part though, those are the only real effects you'll get, unless of course you count the sounds made after horribly falling onto spikes, but those shouldn't really be something to look forward to.

The controls for the game are fairly simple. You aim and time your jumps, then you jump. You can also maneuver in mid air by being somehow unaffected by the laws of gravity. To do this, you'll mainly be using a combination of the keyboard to guide your character and the mouse to aim your jumps. It can take some getting used to, but given enough time it's simple enough to master.

In the game, you spend the entire level jumping upwards. As you jump, you can cling onto spinning stone cylinders. Doing this causes your character to spin with the cylinder, giving you a chance to move your character around in ways that would otherwise be impossible. The object of the game is to get as much treasure as possible by the time you get to the exit at the top of the structure. Why the little guy didn't just grab the treasure on the way down will forever be a mystery. Still, it makes for a fun little puzzle/platform game. As you progress, you'll also be able to upgrade your jumps and purchase little bonuses along the way.

In closing, Unlucky Robber is a fun and casual little game. It's a bit short, but it's fun for what it is.
