Panel de Pon -- Vs. Com, Hard (1/3)
Now finally, maybe I can kick this random increase in my need to share Panel de Pon again with you guys who are unfortunate enough to be somehow drawn to this video page. Well, I suppose technically that still leaves Pokémon Puzzle League...but I'll be nice and leave that one for later if I need a quick fix and might take it out on the innocent.
Hard mode is...well, it's actually got some competent opponents to offer. They don't exactly push the envelope on how much speed they're allowed to use, but they can clear, chain, and destroy garbage like a reasonable player would.
That said, obviously this doesn't mean a whole lot coming from me...I'm hopelessly skewed in my appraisal of how long or short a versus match "ought" to be. I remember back when I was starting out, it took me a really long time and several continues to finish the final battle against Naval Piranha on Easy mode in Tetris Attack.
They say hindsight is 20/20, but that's a big fat lie...I can't even remember what it was like to play this game back before I became a certifiable nutcase for its particular workings.
I just remember waking up one day and deciding that instead of setting up the CPU Switch option to let the maximum level AI play Endless for me just to see how well it did...well, I just went out and did it myself. Then the score wasn't the object, it was the time required to reach maximum score...then I started playing Time Trial instead.
Granted, I'm not very good at going for score...it's a whole other mindset, and the race isn't just to make chains, it's to cash in on the higher-echelon bonuses that you can get for clearing panels while a chain is going on.
That's the next plateau that I can see but not stand upon, but I'm not feeling any particular angst over where I'm at now...it's a lot more fun for me where I'm at, and maybe someday I'll see things differently...but who knows. I wonder if I'll even be able to relate to what I'm thinking right now if such a day comes.
