Crack Attack -- 11 March 2010, vs. Catelite #01
I'm doing it again! You can't stop me! I'm crazy like that!
I've once again taken to testing out my new toy of an application for capturing onscreen footage, and this time we're going to do some Crack...Attack. Okay, fine, I won't try to be funny any more, because that was just sad.
Basically Crack Attack is a loving homage of a fanmade clone of Panel de Pon, Tetris Attack, Puzzle League, whatever your preferred name is (although Alexey Pajitnov apparently prefers that you not associate this with his creation) available for Windows, Linux, and even apparently has a group of fans of its own that has brought it over to Mac OS X.
If you're interested in trying it out, it's freely available under the GNU General Public License, so you can grab a copy of your own at:
http://www.nongnu.org/crack-attack/
or for the "Mac Crack Attack" as they call it, here:
http://crackattack.sourceforge.net/
I have no idea as to the potential interoperability of the versions, but it's pretty basic netplay where all you do is connect directly from a copy of the application running in client mode to another copy of the application running as a server at a particular IP address.
So without further adieu, let's get crackin'...okay, sorry, I know I promised. It won't happen again.
I'd like to note that there are no native sound effects or music in this game, which would be pretty boring to watch, so I decided to throw in some music I happened to have that was tangentially relevant to the game itself.
The songs I added to the video were the general minion (Phoenix/Dragon/Hookbill the Koopa/Naval Piranha/Kamek) theme, Tiana/Poochy's theme, Neris/Lunge Fish's theme, and Seren/Raphael the Raven's theme and I don't remember the exact location, but I actually got them from the official Intelligent Systems Japanese website for Panel de Pon, where there were also similar remixes for most of the soundtrack. If there's any interest, I'll try to dig the page address up again sometime.
Hopefully Catelite doesn't mind too much, but since I've got a whole ton of videos that I want to upload, I'm going to put off actually getting the second part out until later...so as not to utterly inundate people with new video content.
