Here is our first Peach Interlude, where we take control of the Mushroom Kingdom princess. Peach cannot escape her room as there are Koopatrols patrolling the area, so she needs to find a secret area, and it leads to Bowser's Diary, which reveals where the next Star Spirit is located, then Mario has a run in with an old foe.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

The first interlude in Paper Mario, and we take control of the princess, and when you try to leave the room, you get sent back by the Koopatrols. What you have to do is activate a switch, revealing a secret passage where the fireplace is, and then down the corridor and to another room, and we find Bowser's Diary, which Peach then reads and learns that the Koopa Bros. have been defeated, and the next Star Spirit is at Dry Dry Ruins, which is located at Dry Dry Desert, and there is a secret behind it, but then Bowser himself shows up, and when the Koopatrols show up, Bowser calls them the worse guards ever before telling them to send Peach back to her room.
Then it is back to Mario, and we then learn our first Special Move, they require Star Power, or SP, and Eldstar gives us a tutorial on how to use Star Power. The Special Move we learn is Refresh, this heals Mario's HP and FP by 5 when used, and it consumes 1 SP, and you can use Focus to fill up the Star Gauge a bit.
When you leave Koopa Bros. Fortress, you can blast the wall with Bombette and go down the Warp Pipe, which leads to a chest containing the FP Plus badge, FP Plus increases your FP by 5. Right as you approach Toad Town, Jr. Troopa is back, and he has a new move, he hides in his egg shell, which gives him 1 Defense, and he has 15 HP, Bombette's Bomb can deal some good damage to Jr. Troopa, and if your HP and FP get a bit low, you can use Refresh to heal if you have enough Star Power to use it.
Back to Toad Town, and we meet up with Twink, who tells Mario where the next Star Spirit is at, and I show a bunch of optional stuff, like the partner's letters at the Post Office, the Toad Town News board near Merlon's house, and also check on Luigi at the Mario Bros' House.
Rowf's Badge Shop is now open, and his inventory expands after each chapter, starting from Chapter 1, he will have Speedy Spin, which increases the distance Mario can spin, Multibounce, which allows Mario to jump on all enemies in a row, which is a helpful badge for this point, D-Down Pound, which ignores enemy Defense, I recommend getting that, and First Attack, which eliminates a weaker enemy when they give no more Star Points, they do cost coins to buy them.
The northern part of Toad Town is accessible, and you can visit Tayce T. to cook items, you can cook a Mushroom for a Fried Shroom, which heals 6 HP and 2 FP, most of them are upgrades to regular items, if you picked up some Goomnuts from Goomba Village, you can get a Nutty Cake, which heals 10 FP, making it a great item for healing FP for this early on in the game. North of the bridge is a Bub-ulb, who gives you a Miracle Seed, which you can give to Minh T. to plant it, and this becomes really important at around Chapter 6. There is Toad Town Tunnels which you can access at this point in the game, and that place is optional, although it does become required to access way later in the game, and do note that there is a very tough boss fight there, you can do it now if you want, but I would recommend waiting until you have completed Chapter 2 to take on this very tough boss fight.
