I start the second row of characters on the roster, and starting things off is Link, and I am going by the order on the Wii U roster, in the 3DS roster, Donkey Kong would be the first character in the second row, and it would end with Zero Suit Samus, and it is the same order, the difference is Mr. Game & Watch and Little Mac are not in that order in the 3DS version. This is the last Smash Bros. game where Link has his usual moves, because in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Link was reworked entirely, where he no longer has the Clawshot, and he got a new Final Smash that replaces Triforce Slash.
I could go over the opponents on Classic Mode, in Rounds 1 to 3, you fight characters using their default costumes, and in Rounds 4 and 5, you fight characters that use alternate costumes, in Round 6, you fight against the Fighting Mii Team, and in the final round, you fight Master Hand, or you fight Crazy Hand as well, or against Master Core based on the Intensity, Master Core's starting form is based on how high Intensity you are playing on.
Time to go over Link's custom moves, since this is the only game to have custom moves in the Smash Bros. series, his neutral special is Hero's Bow, which was called Bow in Melee, and was changed to Bow and Arrow in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to likely reference Breath of the Wild, but going over the custom variants of Hero's Bow, the first one is Power Bow, which have shorter range, and it has decent knockback, the downside is the increased charge time in Power Bow, and the second variant is Quickfire Bow, which deals magic damage and the arrows charge instantly and it can pass through opponents. Then his side special is Gale Boomerang, which I do like how Link has that move as a reference to Twilight Princess, and that has some custom variants, his first custom variant is Boomerang, which works how Link's Boomerang worked in previous Smash Bros. games prior to Brawl, it is stronger than Gale Boomerang, but it doesn't pull in opponents, while the second variant is Ripping Boomerang, which has short range and can pass through opponents, dealing multiple hits. Then his up special, Spin Attack, and the first custom variant is Shocking Spin, which adds an electricity effect and has increased damage, but has reduced sideways motion and leaves Link wide open, making it not that good for recovery, while the other variant is Whirling Leap, which does not deal damage and cannot be charged, but it sends Link up at a higher distance, making this a move for recovery. Then his down special is Bomb, which I do like how it changed to Remote Bomb in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and I prefer that, but anyway, for the custom variants for Bomb, the first one is Giant Bomb, where Link pulls out a massive bomb which deals more damage and knockback, and I do like the description on how Link keeps these things, referencing how much stuff Link keeps in his inventory in The Legend of Zelda series, and the other one is Meteor Bomb, which is weaker, and it has a meteor effect on opponents that are in the air, the downside is the meteor effect can also affect Link, making this not good for recovering.
