Simply put for $24.99 this is hands down the best controller you can buy for PC gaming and here's why...

The 8 foot long cord is long enough for me but of course being a USB plug you can always use a standard USB extension cable if you need more length. The dual analog joysticks, face buttons, L and R triggers and overall build quality are all above what I would have expected from a "third party" controller of this price range. Even for use on an actual XBOX I wouldn't feel ripped off if I spent $30 on this controller. The only exception is the D-Pad (you already expect that to suck considering what this is based on) and the L and R bumpers which do feel a little on the flimsy side compared to all the other buttons. The 3 games I tried so far have all been setup by default to work with all buttons mapped perfectly and the games even display the proper button icons (letters and colors) on screen making it easy to pickup and play. To my surprise the vibration even worked in 2 of the 3 games! Remember this is all with no fiddling with custom drivers or even setting up any custom button settings in game! The 360 controller has become the standard for game developers on PC and so they simply work the best "out of the box" with no pre-setup. I literally just plugged in the controller and it automatically popped up in Windows as a "Microsoft XBOX 360 controller for Windows" and it worked right away in all of these games.

I wont deny that a PS3 controller could work just as well in theory. In fact, if your PC has bluetooth capability (and seriously you can get a mini USB bluetooth adapter for $10 or less on Amazon or EBay) you can even get a PS3 controller to work wirelessly on your PC! Otherwise if you don't mind the wire you can just use the mini USB cable provided with your controller. But this does require installing and fiddling with custom third party drivers and your mileage may vary. I would imagine you would also have to map the button layout in most games to get the best results but I'm not %100 sure about that. I will say the on-screen button icons will probably not match up with your controller though. That's the beauty of the XBOX 360 controller being the industry standard for PC games. It not only works right out of the box but the on-screen button icons will match up perfectly with each button on the controller all by default. If you want a wireless Bluetooth controller the PS3 is a great option or if you want a cheap wireless controller AND you don't mind fiddling with third party drivers that's great! You might already own a PS3 so you already have a PS3 controller sitting right in front of you and who's going to argue that a free controller being put to multiple uses is a bad thing? Not me! But if you want a controller that's "plug and play" not only with the drivers but the in-game setup you can't go wrong with an XBOX 360 controller and for $24.99 you absolutely can't go wrong with THIS controller.
