This is a fan made port that allows us to play on modern computers the version of Doom released for the 3DO console with several improvements. This version is well known for being one of the worst console adaptations of the legendary id Software game, practically unplayable due to framerate and control issues (things solved with this port), but also for having a very good version of the original soundtrack, reinterpreted in the form of rock music.

Otherwise, this 3DO version is based on the Atari Jaguar version, which was taken as the basis for several adaptations of the time. This makes it have numerous changes compared to the original MS-DOS game, and therefore it is interesting to be able to play it without the bad things that the original version had.

In this longplay or playthrough I show the complete game in ultra-violence difficulty and I try to get all the secrets, but I leave some on the way, because I don't know well this version of the game (numerous changes in the levels especially from corresponding to E2M2 and later confuse me a little). In any case, I do show all 24 levels of this version.

I already had a brief gameplay of Doom for 3DO in the channel, although that was with an emulator, showing how bad it was, and how with the emulator you could improve a little the experience overclocking the emulated CPU of the console: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xOI3--_Ji8

The port can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/BodbDearg/phoenix_doom

A disk image of the game is necessary for it to work.

Overall, very good port and being able to play any version of Doom on PC is always interesting, although the PSX and N64 ones are much more recommended (and fortunately also with ports). However, there are two things that I find strange, first that it is quite dark, more than the original (perhaps changes in lighting), not allowing to increase the brightness in the options (which are via .ini), and second, I notice it too accelerated, although that also creates an interesting gaming experience.
