Pillars of Garendall was released on MAC and PC in 2001, it was Developed by Beenox Studios, and Published by Ambrosia Software. It was coupled along with the game engine so people could make their own games but problems with the engine seen the developers/producers pull the engine off market completely and not selling licenses to the full game. Since then, the game has gone to abandonware status.


What can I say? this game is old but graphically it's still nice looking, it's open world based so you can travel through loads of maps and die from one hit. Quests are hidden so it sees you talking to just about every NPC you come across numerous times to find quests.

Speaking of quests, some will net you items that will boost stats with each level up, such as the Knight's Quests (which you see in the video) where you can gain titles that give bonuses to every level up also, there's a few of these knight quests to do.

There's quite a few hidden skills and items to learn and find, one such item is the Blue Mushroom, this nifty item will net you +5 Vitality when eaten which means extra stamina points every time you increase a character level.

This game just reminds me so much of a Legend of Zelda game with not so bright colored graphics but with more quests. Music, i'm not really sure if there is any later in game but I don't remember hearing any as I played.. LOL! but this is all the better for putting your own music on :D

Do I recommend you play this game? Oh God yes! it's really an early piece of gaming art that's really enjoyable if you don't mind walking around a while and not meeting anything to kill, though this game is more about adventuring than slaying.
