Resonate ~Call Out My Angel~ (2015, PC Gameplay 2020)
Resonate ~Call Out My Angel~ was released in 2015 by an indie development team called SeraphCircle. It was developed using the RPG Maker VX ACE engine.
Okay, so I know I have said it before about RPG Maker games, how I don't like them unless something unusual comes along, blah! blah! blah!, well.. I bring you another one I came across on my internet travels, it looked good so I downloaded it and tried it out.
This game has such a charm about it, the graphics, the music, the had drawn art, even the monsters and characters of the game all look great. Whilst the menu system still for me screams RPG Maker I was willing to overlook that because the game looks so beautiful.
The story seems to be a pretty sad one to start with but it soon enough opens up an entire world for you to explore with nice looking characters, even their personas all seem different.
The graphics kinda remind me of a mix between the SaGa series of games and those really two odd graphical Super Nintendo RPG games that create d such a unique looking world, Paladin's Quest 1 + 2. My only issue really is if you play Resonate in full screen mode it becomes quite pixelated and there is no option for any other resolutions unfortunately.
The music is really great, nice and melodic, suits the theme of the game very well and the battle music is pretty nice also. The sound effects are your basic sounds for a Jrpg but I DID notice a few of the standard RPG Maker sound effects in there also, but who cares when the game is THIS CUTE :D
If your interested in playing this great indie Jrpg then you can find it here..
