The game puts the player at the control of a cabinet-mounted Peashooter that fires peas,yes peas,to stop advancing waves of zombies.

The player selects their initials, and are then greeted by Crazy Dave, who shows the mechanics of the game.
Then can then the game pick from a few places to battle the zombies, such as a lawn or a grocery store market.
The only plant featured in the game is the Peashooter. However, the player can get more boosts to upgrade it to a Fire Peashooter, Snow Pea, Gatling Pea, Spike Pea, Exploding Pea, Bubble Pea, Lightning Pea which is only available when it's raining, and a Threepeater with yellow peas, other plants are shown, but are not playable, such as Sunflower and Chomper.

Powers:

Gatling: Shoot way faster.

Spike: Shoot pointy spiked peas

Bubble: Shoot armor weakening peas that do more damage to armor. zombies fly to the heavens if killed with bubbles. balloon zombies keep flying when died.

Icicle: exlusive to snow map. its like spike but it slows.

Snow: slows down zombies

Triple Shot: fire 3 peas at once.

Boom Pea: Shoots one pea that instantly kills the zombie it touches. strong if used properly but weak if not used properly.

Lightning: Strikes the zombie the pea hits with lightning. only appears and is common in lightning envioment levels.

Fire Pea: Does big damage and burn zombie.

The Zombies from this game are all from the first game:

Zombie takes 2 hits to kill.

Conehead Zombie is kinda strong with a cone protection on the head.

Pole Vaulting Zombie randomly uses pogo leap to get ahead. can use multiple of times. weakness: snow and Gatling.

Buckethead Zombie is a strong zmobie with head protection.

Newspaper Zombie uses a newspaper as a weak defence. when broken, it gains a little speed.

Screendoor Zombie blocks many peas and is strong.

Football Zombie is fast and strong.

Dancing Zombie = medium amount of hp like a cone head. ability yet to be studied.

Ducky Tube = Zombie provides a little armor.

Balloon Zombie = flys high and is fast untill low hp where it goes down. weakness: snow peas and you aiming up to destroy it.

Pogo Zombie = uses pogo to be fast. when low health, it goes off of pogo. weakness: snow, and Gatling.

Yeti Zombie fast and strong and shakes screen. weaknesses: icicle, boom, Gatling, fire.

If the player kills all the zombie win the ticket jackpot, otherwise he will die and zombie will eat his brain. At end of every run a special code is given, putting this code in the password section on the main screen, will let you play a special stage.
