In this episode, we begin Chapter 14 of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Training. This chapter starts off somewhat abruptly as Ike and the mercenaries are hired by Sanaki to go into Begnion to stop some people who are trading illegal wares. When we get there, we run into the berserker Gashilama who seems to be a Laguz hunter. We have to take him and his brigands down. Unfortunately, it seems Marcia’s brother Makalov has been hired by the bandits to work for them. It turns out this is a fog of war chapter, the second in the game. This makes it a bit more difficult, as we can’t see the opponents we’re supposed to be fighting. There are several houses in this map. In the southwestern house, we meet a woman named Calill who gives us Spirit Dust to increase magic. However, I’m too reckless and get Marcia killed, ending the episode.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Fire Emblem 9/FE9) is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems (a division of Nintendo) for the Nintendo GameCube in 2005. It is the ninth entry in the Fire Emblem series, a beloved Tactical RPG series known for its engaging gameplay, interesting characters, and support conversations. Common themes in the game are racism, the circumstances of one’s birth, and the consequences of war. Path of Radiance is one of the most sought after and expensive GameCube games, and so not many Fire Emblem fans have been able to experience it. So I want to share the game with the world!
Path of Radiance tells the story of Ike, a young Mercenary who lives in the Kingdom of Crimea. When the neighboring nation of Daein invades Crimea, Ike and his mercenary company are forced to evacuate Crimea. When they encounter the lost princess of Crimea, Elincia, their lives change forever. What ensues is a journey of reclaiming their homeland, and confronting a deadly evil.
