The third battle against Barry in Pastoria City. His party hasn't changed much since last time excepting the higher levels, Starly (and Buizel) still being unevolved standing out as particularly perplexing.
Starly has a Quick Claw build that's supposed to make use of Endeavour somehow. It's very easy to OHKO, and even Gyarados can do it without a super-effective move just by virtue of packing a punch.
Buizel threatens Roserade with flinch hax, which is semi-menacing due to the level advantage between the two, but this is also a good time to leave a single layer of toxic spikes for when the bulky Grotle comes in.
Ponyta's fate is a little predictable when Gyarados is available as a counter. Grotle is the toughest mon to face here, and Croagunk has both the right resistances and a powerful nuke in Venoshock, which deals a ton of damage under toxic.
