The 2nd encounter against a Team Galactic commander. Jupiter uses the same Pokemon she did in DPPt, her Skuntank again being a much lower level than what Stunky usually evolves at, which is lv. 34. Zubat still targets the generic rock/ground combo with a grass-type move, but this time it's only Absorb and not Giga Drain. Skuntank, on the other hand, has foregone its Screech/Night Slash combo, which is fairly well countered by Heracross, to focus on a specially attacking set including STAB Acid Spray, Snarl and the anti-Heracross Flamethrower. This gives it very good coverage against all sorts of counters you'd normally consider.
Due to lacking its previously signature earlygame move in Bite, Zubat is best dealt with by having Chingling hit away at it with its Confusion. A 3HKO is the outcome you most expect, and the worst that can happen until then is some poor luck with Supersonic.
Skuntank, conversely, is a much tougher beast to face. Its sole weakness is ground, and wild Geodudes you can catch don't even have Magnitude learnt - in fact, the move is entirely missing from their learnsets (which are identical to SwSh's anyway). Taking any hits from it is another issue altogether, and a simple Growl does naught to special offence.
My defensive strategy is utilising Shellos' Mud-Slap to reduce the accuracy of all moves used by Skuntank, after which Machop comes in to slow it down with repeated Low Sweeps. This lets the traded Chatot, now no longer suffering from overlevelled disobedience, dish out damage with Chatter, confusion further bolstering its ability to stay alive with accuracy cuts around.
In this recording, I was luckier still, the first Snarl missing my Shellos, enabling it to stay in and use Mud-Slap for a good while longer. With Pecha Berry on everything, Machop included (something that may seem counterproductive with Guts existing), Skuntank's habit of using Poison Gas before attacking stronger non-OHKOable targets may cost it its life, letting the damage incur. Without activating Guts and not suffering damage due to accuracy drops, Machop won't be that fast to take down Skuntank with Revenge, but it can and sometimes does do the job.
