After a hour of resets, I finally managed to defeat Red with a new and better strategy. The final time is 4:24. Thats nicely above my goal of sub 4:30. If I had redone the first half of the speed run too, I could have reached a time of sub 4:20. I was really lucky during the battle, so let's sum up what happened.

When Pikachu misses an Iron Tail, I used Knock Off to remove it's Light Ball with the Donphan I caught in the last segment. It now can survive an Iron Tail on the next turn, and then I used Scary Face to lower Pikachu's speed. It finished off Donphan with Quick Attack or Iron Tail afterwards. Then I sent out Feraligatr and used Earthquake to OHKO it.
Venusaur is tricky without X-Attack boosts. It can be 2HKO'd but Venusaur needs to be flinched or frozen. During this battle I was sure it would survive the second Ice Fang and KO me next. Instead, I got a lucky critical hit to ensure Venusaur is KO'd.
Then I decided to use a X-Attack during Blastoise and the next turn I healed up. Blastoise managed to miss 2 Focus Blasts and 1 Hydro Cannon, so I used this to power Feraligatr up with X-items. I also took advantage of the recharge turn of a succesful Hydro Cannon to use all my X-Attacks. Then I KO'd Blastoise with a boosted Earthquake.
When Red sent out Snorlax I already was in Torrent range thanks to Hail. With this I could OHKO Snorlax with Waterfall. Lapras could KO me if Rock Slide manages to miss, but it didn't and Lapras got OHKO'd instead. Feraligatr could outspeed Charizard and OHKO'd it with Waterfall giving me the victory over Red.

This was an extremely luck based battle and I will probrably never do it again in these conditions. This battle is also a lot faster then the last one, thanks to Donphan with Knock Off. I'm proud of this time and it is close to the segmented G/S run on SDA. 4:24 is a great time considering the now required Sprouth Tower and Tin Tower. Both Shuckle and the Choice Specs are now useless and if I started from the beginning I could have cut off another minute.
The physical/special split helped too because Feraligatr now has a physical Water, Dark and Ice move. That made the battles a lot faster, but Pokémon with high Defense are now a bit more problematic. It's still a great speed run and I hope you all enjoyed it. Next I'll upload my Leaf Green speed run with Charizard.
