3Misty was tricky to deal with. Staryu can be OHKO'd with Mega Punch, but it isn't certain. Starmie is faster, but Charmeleon can barely survive a Water Pulse. I used Mega Kick and then switched out to Pidgey and Rattata to heal Charmeleon with a Super Potion. I took another Water Pulse and 2HKO'd Starmie with Mega Kick. It took me a while because Mega Kick likes to miss a lot.
I keep Blaze activated during the Rocket Grunt battle so I can OHKO his Machop with Ember. I picked up a Sitrus Berry and a hidden Rare Candy. I also battle the guy with the Butterfree and OHKO'd it with a Blazed Ember. I needed to heal up then because Raticate would use Quick Attack on me. Because my Super Potions were used, I needed to buy some more in the Vermilion Mart. In the SS Anne, I picked up some items that would help me later on. I taught Charmeleon Brick Break and replaced it with Metal Claw.
