1The rival battle is rather easy, but Pidgeotto liked to use Sand Attack in here. I needed to reset a few times because of this. I 2HKO'd it with Brick Break and Wartortle went down with a Mega Kick and Brick Break. Kadabra is defeated by Mega Punch and Raticate by Brick Break. I received Cut from the captain, taught it to Rattata and battled a Lass for a X-Attack.
I exited the SS Anne and received the Bike Voucher from the babbling Chairman of the Pokéfan Club. I entered the Gym and battled the Gentleman because he was required anyways. I saved then to figure out where the 2 switches were. I also gave Charmeleon a Cheri Berry in case it got Paralyzed.
