The final battle can be annoying. I need to use 2 X-Attacks and 3 X-Specials. I used also a Guard Spec to protect me from Sand Attack and Feather Dance. Pidgeot needs to use a certain combination of attacks to let me pull this off. I got only 2 X-Special in so Blastoise will survive a Blazed Fire Blast. I got a nice Critical Hit in and could sweep the rest of his team. Rhydon with Earthquake and Alakazam with Earthquake. I heal with Exeggutor and OHKO is with Fire Blast. Arcanine goes next and with Intimidate Earthquake isn't a certain OHKO. I got it anyways and can finish of this battle nicely.
Then I discovered that Overheat would be better than Fire Blast. I'll only need 2 X-Specials to OHKO Blastoise and it's a lot safer to power up during Pidgeot with a turn less. The Special Attack drop can be annoying, but Exeggutor is also weak to Wing Attack and it won't be a problem this way. I wasn't that motivated enough to try it, but I think this is actually faster than Overheat by not having the Special Attack drop message(s).
I entered the Hall Of Fame with a time of 2:27:50. That's a very nice time considering my target was 2:50 (about the same as the single segment run that's on Youtube and SDA). My initial time was 2:36 and that went down to 2:30 and now the time I mentioned. My next and final run will be Platinum. The previous run had rather bad video quality so I decided to redo it. I have found better strategies and hope to at least cut down 5 minutes of my previous time.
