The rival is harder now. I used 2 X-Attacks and I OKHO'd Pidgeot with Rock Slide. Blastoise is a 2HKO with Wing Attack. The rest get's OHKO'd by super effective hits or normal hits. I received the Lapras and taught it Surf immediately. Then there is another Grunt I quickly defeat before opening the final door.
Giovanni needs 2 X-Specials to do some serious damage. Rhyhorn is scary because it has Rock Blast. Nidorino and Kangaskhan are OHKO'd by Flamethrower. A Blazed Flamethrower is needed to OHKO Nidoqueen and that isn't even certain. After this I picked up all the vitamins in here to power up Charizard and another Rare Candy. Then I used Dig and dodged all trainers in the Gym, were I picked the fastest path and saved.
