I head through the first Underground Path and make it to Vermillion City. There, I get the mischievous Squirtle from Officer Jenny, then trade it off to learn some TMs. Once I get it back, I look around Vermillion for a bit before going on the S.S. Anne. I make my way through the ship, defeating every trainer before facing the Rival once again at 43:24. I help the captain, who in turn teaches Pikachu the Secret Technique, Chop Down. These Secret Techniques are the replacements for HMs now, and this one is pretty much Cut from Gen I.

After leaving the ship, I head over to Route 11 to defeat more trainers. While I am there, I get the IV judge feature from Professor Oaks aide at the Gatehouse at 59:22. After defeating the other trainers, I save in front of Diglett’s Cave.
