Here is the final part of the playthrough. I show off the Go Park complex (0:15) in Fuchsia City, then take on five other Master Trainers. You pretty much have to match or be above their levels along with feeding a good amount of candies to your Pokémon, especially if you can’t exploit the opponents’ weaknesses. I make a detour to Cinnabar Mansion, which curiously has Master Trainers for the last four Pokémon in the Pokédex (13:56), but you cannot battle them whatsoever.

After defeating these Master Trainers (for a total of six), Red finally appears outside the Indigo Plateau, so I use the Rare Candies I have gained throughout the journey to level Pikachu to an appropriate level, and finally challenge Red (25:58). Just like the Master Trainer battles, you cannot use items whatsoever, and Red’s team is pumped with candies, so you’ll have to use similarly trained Pokémon. After a long battle, I defeat Red, which gives me the title of Battle Master, and finish the playthough.
