This week, I will be trading Nymble through Surprise Trade, another early game Bug-type Pokémon, well not really early game, because Nymble is available at West Province Area One and South Province Area Three, but it is still around the early game.
I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Adamant for the Nature, as Nymble's evolution line have Attack for the best stat, and it has decent Speed as well, I made sure to have Tinted Lens on most of them, as not only is it Nymble's Hidden Ability, but it's the best Ability for it.
For Egg Moves, Nymble can only get Skitter Smack and Counter, and for Pokémon that can learn those moves, it learns Skitter Smack from the Tarountula and Tinkatink lines, and Counter from various Pokémon, like Meditite, Sudowoodo, Lucario, and a few other Pokémon, the Tarountula line does learn Counter as well.
Nymble does have its starting moves of Tackle and Leer, and for level up moves, it learns Struggle Bug, Astonish, Assurance, Double Kick, Screech, Endure, Bug Bite, Feint, Agility, Sucker Punch, and First Impression. It evolves into the Bug/Dark-type Lokix at Level 24, and it learns Lunge upon evolution, for moves it can learn as Lokix, it can get Detect, Low Kick, Throat Chop, Bounce, and Axe Kick. If you are wondering, Axe Kick is not Lokix's signature move, Medicham learns this move as well.
Next are TMs, and I will go over what Lokix can learn, it can get Thief, Trailblaze, Pounce, Aerial Ace, Low Sweep, Brick Break, U-turn, Taunt, Swords Dance, Leech Life, X-Scissor, Reversal, Giga Impact, Bug Buzz, and Tera Blast.
For some reason, Pikalytics doesn't seem to have much data for many Pokémon, this is very notable for Double Battles, as I couldn't find any data on Lokix used in Double Battles. I decided to check Pokémon HOME to see the rankings, and Lokix is placed 79th for Single Battles, and in Double Battles, it is not in the top 150. While Lokix doesn't have the best stats in comparison to the top attackers like Scizor, it does have a good Attack stat, but not as high as most sweepers, it does get access to Sucker Punch and First Impression for some powerful priority moves, and with Tinted Lens, this boosts the damage it deals even against those it would be that effective against. Lokix can use U-turn and Throat Chop for some extra STAB moves, it doesn't tend to use many coverage options due to Tinted Lens, and it doesn't need a different Tera Type to its original type, Bug to give its First Impression a lot more power is good enough. Lokix does get some decent coverage moves like Brick Break and Trailblaze, and it can use Swords Dance to boost its Attack stat, for an alternative Bug-type move, Leech Life is a decent choice to have. As a Bug-type, it is outclassed by Scizor, and as a Dark-type, it faces competition from Meowscarada and Kingambit, and if you count the Treasures of Ruin, Chien-Pao is a dangerous Physical Dark-type attacker that outclasses Lokix.
There isn't much reason to use Lokix in Double Battles, Scizor is the better Bug-type, and while Lokix does get First Impression, Slither Wing learns that move as well, and it has better stats than Lokix.
I usually go over the Pokémon's performance in Tera Raid battles, and while Lokix is more of a budget option, it is easily accessible, has access to Swords Dance, Leech Life, and Throat Chop, and it can use Screech and Taunt for support moves, it is outclassed by Scizor and Kingambit even in Tera Raid Battles.
As with the main game, Nymble doesn't get Bug Bite until Level 22, the best it can have for a Bug-type move is Pounce if you take on the Bug-type Gym first, but with Skitter Smack, this does give it a Bug-type move it can work with. Lokix does have some good match-ups against some of the boss fights, it has the advantage against the Grass-type Gym, it learns First Impression by the time you fight the Psychic-type Gym, and its Dark-type gives it an advantage against the Ghost-type Gym. Lokix is a good Bug-type option when going through the game, while the Nymble stage is very rough until learning Bug Bite, it does get Lunge upon evolution, and it can use Brick Break, Aerial Ace, and Trailblaze if it needs type coverage, and it is easier to obtain than Scizor, because while Lokix is easily accessible, Scizor requires trading with a specific item in order to obtain it.
