Next up is a 7 Star Tera Raid Event, and the Pokémon for this one is Chesnaught with the Rock Tera Type. This one I wasn't expecting to happen right away, but as we only three Starter Pokémon left out of the ones currently available, or well, in the data for the game, and we don't have any news on Pokémon HOME at the time, I don't know if they will go through every Starter Pokémon in the data before then, and if that is the case, this means Delphox and Rillaboom are the remaining Starter Pokémon. Don't expect Pokémon like Incineroar or Serperior coming soon, as they are not in the data for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Going over the event, Chesnaught has the Rock Tera Type, this Pokémon is a Grass/Fighting-type Pokémon, it has the Hidden Ability of Bulletproof, which protects it from moves that have "Ball" or "Bomb" in the name, that's moves like Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Sludge Bomb, and many others, and there are moves that have them in the Japanese name, for example, Aura Sphere is one of those moves because its Japanese name is Pulse Bomb.
For moves, Chesnaught has Wood Hammer, Hammer Arm, Stone Edge, and Earthquake, and for the extra moves, it has Iron Defense, Bulk Up, and Curse, don't know why it has both Bulk Up and Curse when they have the same effect, the difference is Curse decreases its Speed, but it already has Hammer Arm which lowers its Speed when used. This does make Special Attacks more ideal to use against it, but the downside is that most of the Special moves Chesnaught is weak to are nullified because of Bulletproof, and you are not likely to use a Water or Ground-type Pokémon against it as they are weak to Grass-type moves.
Fighting-type Pokémon are your best shot, I traded over Koraidon from Pokémon Scarlet to use for this one, and I did bring some backup options like Gholdengo and Annihilape. I have Breaking Swipe on Koraidon to lower Chesnaught's Attack a bit, and it has Drain Punch and Collision Course for Fighting-type moves to deal some damage, even if I do have to get through those Defense boosts, and this is where I gave Screech to Koraidon to help out in the battle. Gholdengo can use Metal Sound to weaken Chesnaught's Special Defense and then deal huge damage with Flash Cannon or Steel Beam, while Annihilape can work similarly to Koraidon, the difference being Rage Fist instead of Collision Course.
To list other options, Grass-type Pokémon like Appletun and Lurantis are some notable choices, Appletun can use Apple Acid to lower Chesnaught's Special Defense, while Lurantis can use Leaf Storm, along with Contary, to boost its Special Attack, and both can learn Giga Drain.
This Chesnaught does have an Impish Nature, at least it gets a good Nature when caught in Tera Raid Battles, it can work with Adamant if you want to go with a Physical Attacker, it does have good Attack, but its best stat is Defense. For moves, it can learn Spiky Shield, Feint, Leech Seed, Pin Missile, Seed Bomb, Bulk Up, Body Slam, Pain Split, and Wood Hammer for some level up moves, Spiky Shield was Chesnaught's signature move in Pokémon X & Y, but in this game, the only other Pokémon that can learn that move are Cacturne and Glimmora. Chesnaught does learn a wide variety of moves through TM, it can learn Low Kick, Trailblaze, Aerial Ace, Bulldoze, Metal Claw, Rock Tomb, Low Sweep, Bullet Seed, Dig, Brick Break, Zen Headbutt, Shadow Claw, Thunder Punch, Drain Punch, Reflect, Dragon Claw, Poison Jab, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, Taunt, Swords Dance, Body Press, Spikes, Iron Head, Iron Defense, Crunch, Earthquake, Stone Edge, and Close Combat, giving it great versatility, and for Egg Moves, it can get Super Fang, Belly Drum, Synthesis, Wide Guard, and Quick Guard.
Chesnaught can be a reliable Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, it is one of few Pokémon to learn Belly Drum, and it can deal some massive damage with Wood Hammer or Close Combat, or if you don't like the recoil from Wood Hammer, Seed Bomb is not a bad alternative. It can make use of Iron Defense and Body Press with its high Defense stat, and for best Tera Type, Rock does give it a resistance to Flying, but if you want more resistances, Steel can be nice, although it does keep the Fire weakness, while Rock turns most of Chesnaught's weaknesses into resistances, while also powering up moves like Rock Slide and Stone Edge, or if you want more accuracy, Tera Blast is a good move to have.
