Pokemon SoulSilver – Bugsy (no exp)
0I think it's going to be the last hard battle for a while.
Bugsy has three Pokemon but you can say that two of them are just fodder to protect his ace. He also leads with his ace Scyther because of his TM : U-turn lets Scyther do big damage before switching to one of his other Pokemon. My plan is to force Scyther to use U-turn by using Gastly and then I switch to Zubat to tank U-turn into Metapod. I then switch to Onix to use Screech three times before sending Krabby out to 2HKO Metapod with Vicegrip. Bugsy will also use his healing item on Metapod so that helps.
Scyther comes back against Gastly once more and I switch to Zubat again to tank U-turn into Kakuna except I want Onix to not switch into Poison sting so I sacrifice Zubat. Onix holds a Pecha berry because I need him to have enough health for the last part of the battle. I'll use two or three Screeches before using Krabby to destroy the cocoon once more.
His Scyther is now alone and he's also vulnerable to debuffs since he can't switch out. Ekans will lower his attack and I'll sacrifice Krabby here. Onix needs to use Screech once and that's why he needed to have enough health to tank a U-turn. I then send a near-max level Geodude that I caught while farming for berries with Rock smash (he can go up to level 14). He can survive two non-crit U-turns and his Rock throw is usually a 2HKO but Onix's Screech lets me OHKO Bugsy's ace.
