To start off the battle, the CPU goes with Suicune, while I lead off with Hitmonlee, and the CPU does have three Water-type Pokémon that I have to deal with. I do have the Grass-type Victreebel, but I want to try and save it for later in the battle as I find that it is better against Lanturn.
I wanted to try and save Hitmonlee for later in the battle, so I switched out to Furret and try and see how much damage it can do against Suicune, as I do have ThunderPunch to deal super effective damage and try for the paralysis. The trickiest opponent is Miltank, and that was where I had to put Shuckle to use as Miltank does have Stomp, and it outspeeds Hitmonlee, and I do not want Hitmonlee to go down from Miltank's Stomp getting in a flinch or two.
Shuckle's main use is to use Sandstorm to weaken the opponent and either Rollout to get in some damage or Sludge Bomb to try and poison the opponent, and I find that it is the best way to weaken Miltank, I don't need Shuckle for anyone else as it cannot do anything to Magneton, and that is the one Pokémon that I have Pupitar for as Magneton cannot do much against Pupitar.
With Pidgeotto, it is there to fight Bellsprout, but it can help deal some hits off against Lanturn or Politoed when they come out, even if it is at a disadvantage to Lanturn's Spark. Pupitar can deal super effective damage to Lanturn, but it is not worth using as Hydro Pump can take out Pupitar in one attack, and Victreebel is my best use against it, even if I have to deal with the charge turn for SolarBeam. For some reason, the AI never uses Perish Song with Politoed, it just likes to use Whirlpool and Icy Wind whenever it is in the battle, the Icy Wind can be one thing that I have to watch out with Victreebel, even with the Speed drop from the attack.
