As I was not expecting The Crown Tundra to release this month, I have decided to change around my schedule and upload the Restricted Sparring for the Isle of Armor twice per week, so that way I can get Restricted Sparring done before The Crown Tundra.
For this one, I use Ghost-type Pokémon, and the team I went with is Dragapult, Gengar, and Alolan Marowak. Starting with Dragapult, I went with a Physical Attacker, and he has Dragon Darts and Phantom Force for his main moves. Steel Wing is for type coverage against Fairy-type Pokémon, and U-turn is if I want to get Dragapult out of the battle, and he has a high Speed stat, so there wasn't much reason not to use Dragapult in Ghost-type Restricted Sparring.
Next is Gengar, he has a Focus Sash, and it did take a few tries to get some good results, because in one of them, I had to fight a Bisharp with Sucker Punch, and that was terrifying, and another one, Whiscash became my mortal enemy, even using Dragon Dance twice and sweeping my entire team. Back to Gengar, he can Gigantamax, while his Gigantamax form is terrifying in appearance, G-Max Terror from his Ghost-type moves can trap his opponents in place. Sludge Wave and Dazzling Gleam are some good move options, I did consider Focus Blast at first, but decided on Dazzling Gleam, and he has Destiny Bond to take down opponents along with him after surviving a powerful attack with a Focus Sash.
I use an Alolan Marowak for this one, and he was obtained from someone in Japan through the GTS in Pokémon HOME, because I wanted an Alolan Marowak in an interesting ball, and the only way I could do it is to transfer one from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon, as those are the only games I can get an Alolan Marowak in anything other than a Poké Ball. Now for his moves, Marowak has Poltergeist, it was tough deciding between that and Shadow Bone, but Poltergeist is base 110 power, but it only works if the target is holding an item, and all Pokémon in Restricted Sparring have an item, so Poltergeist was the better move. Flare Blitz is there for a powerful Fire-type move, although it would be nice if Marowak had Rock Head instead of Lightning Rod, while Bonemerang and Brick Break filled in for some other good moves, and with the Thick Club, Marowak's Attack is doubled, so his moves become more dangerous.
While Gengar and Dragapult are some of the best Pokémon in terms of sweepers, I will list some alternatives, there are some good defensive options, from Eviolite users like Dusclops, Doublade, and Galarian Corsola, and some that are straight up defensive, like Jellicent, Cofagrigus, Runerigus, Gourgeist, Palossand, and a few others.
I will list some good Ghost-type options, like Chandelure, Mimikyu, Rotom, Aegislash, Decidueye, Polteageist, and some other Pokémon, and for decent options, Sableye, Dusknoir, Cursola, Trevenant, Dhelmise, Golurk, Drifblim, Froslass, and Shedinja can be some ones that can be interesting to use.
