A Generation 4 for this week's Surprise Trade, and out of all of them, it would be Bronzor, the Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon. I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Relaxed for the Nature, as Bronzor is all about Defense, and Speed is its lowest stat. Most of them have Levitate and Heatproof, as those do cancel out its weaknesses, Levitate giving it an immunity to Ground-type moves, and Heatproof makes Bronzor take neutral damage from Fire-type moves, I didn't bother with Heavy Metal, as there is no reason to take that over Levitate or Heatproof, I prefer Levitate as the Ground immunity is better than taking neutral damage from Fire-type moves.
I have Tackle and Confusion on them, Bronzor being a genderless Pokémon does not get any Egg Moves, it evolves into Bronzong at Level 33, and during the Bronzor stage, it has very low attacking stats, so Bronzor won't be about dealing damage, while Bronzong has good stats in Attack and Special Attack.
For level up moves, Bronzor can learn Confuse Ray, Payback, Imprison, Gyro Ball, Hypnosis, Safeguard, Extrasensory, Heavy Slam, Iron Defense, Metal Sound, and Future Sight. Its evolved form Bronzong learns Block upon evolution, and it can learn Sunny Day and Weather Ball through the Move Relearner, and it can learn Rain Dance by levelling up.
Next are its TM and TR moves, I will mainly be going over what Bronzong learns in Sword & Shield, and there are some it cannot learn as a Bronzor. For TMs, it can learn Light Screen, Reflect, Solar Beam, Rock Slide, Sandstorm, Imprison, Rock Tomb, Power Swap, Guard Swap, Speed Swap, Trick Room, Wonder Room, Hex, Bulldoze, and Psychic Terrain, and for TRs, it can learn Psychic, Earthquake, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Trick, Calm Mind, Zen Headbutt, Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Stealth Rock, Grass Knot, Ally Switch, and Body Press, and it can learn Steel Beam as a Tutor move, as well as Expanding Force, Meteor Beam, and Steel Roller. For moves it can learn in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can get Charge Beam, Explosion, Recycle, Rock Polish, Flash, Dream Eater, Swagger, Strength, and Rock Smash.
Bronzong was considered one of the best walls in the competitive scene back in Gen 4, its Steel/Psychic-type and access to Levitate was one thing that made it stand out, and it had access to Trick Room, along with moves like Gyro Ball and Earthquake to make it a great Pokémon in Trick Room. It no longer takes neutral damage from Dark and Ghost-type moves, instead being weak to them, and this has hindered Bronzong in online battles, while Metagross does have the same type combination, at least Metagross is still usable with that high Attack stat.
Bronzong can make use of Body Press, when given Iron Defense, this can boost the power of Body Press, it can even use Speed Swap, which I find to be better in Double Battles, because if Bronzong is teamed up with a speedy Pokémon, it can trade its low Speed with that Pokémon and go first, specially when given moves like Iron Head or Rock Slide to flinch its opponents. It can even be made a Special Attacker with access to moves like Flash Cannon, Expanding Force, Meteor Beam, and Grass Knot, specially when equipped with a Power Herb, and it can set up Stealth Rock.
In Double Battles, Bronzong has access to Trick Room and Ally Switch, which are nice moves, but as a Trick Room Pokémon, it faces competition with Porygon2 and Dusclops, both can hold Eviolite and take hits well, and Bronzong is not an easy Pokémon to fit onto a team, as Metagross is already a good Pokémon in Double Battles, specially with the Weakness Policy and having a higher Attack stat than Bronzong.
If you are wondering about Bronzong's performance in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the good thing is it can use Stealth Rock to set up, although leads like Aerodactyl and Azelf tend to be better at that role, and Bronzong can even be affected by Taunt, which they can even learn as well. Bronzong is outclassed by Cresselia as a Pokémon that can set up Trick Room, as Cresselia has the bulk to take hits and set up Trick Room, but Bronzong does have the typing to make use of it. If it has Levitate, it can switch in against a Ground-type Pokémon using Earthquake, but it has to watch out for certain coverage moves, like Garchomp's Fire Fang or Gliscor's Knock Off. Bronzong has Earthquake and Gyro Ball to put to good use, and while it can use Explosion, it got nerfed from Gen 5 onwards, because Explosion no longer halves the target's Defense stat, but it is still a powerful move, but not as powerful as what it used to be.
