I am playing through Classic Mode with Roy from the Fire Emblem series, and how I usually do Classic Mode is that I randomize a list to decide who my next character will be, but the playlist for my Classic Mode videos will be in roster order, as in how the fighters are displayed on the roster. Roy's Classic Mode route is A Journey of Swords, so all of Roy's opponents are characters that use swords.
To unlock Roy, there are many different ways, and one of them is through Vs. Matches, where Roy is the 29th character to be unlocked, and he is the 6th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Mario or anyone in his unlock tree after Luigi.
As with Roy's Classic Mode route, in Round 1, you fight Lucina, Chrom, and Ike on Castle Siege. Then in Round 2, you fight Meta Knight, and the stage you fight him on is Halberd, then in Round 3, your opponent is Link, and the stage is Skyloft. Then in Round 4, you fight Shulk on Gaur Plain, next is Round 5, you fight Cloud on Midgar, and in Round 6, your opponents are Marth and two Corrins, male and female, and it is a free-for-all on Coliseum.
Then we have the Bonus Stage, and the final battle is against Master Hand, and if you are playing on Intensity 7.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and I still find it strange why Master Hand, because Ganon is a boss that uses swords, so they could of had Ganon be the boss for Roy's Classic Mode route, as all of Roy's opponents up to them are characters that use swords, but then again Ganon is usually the boss for almost every character for the Legend of Zelda series.
After beating Classic Mode, you get the credits, and the song is Winning Road - Roy's Hope, and we get that reference with Roy Koopa in the end, as he is the only other character to have the same name as Roy from Fire Emblem, and you unlock the Fighter Spirit for Roy when you complete Classic Mode with him for the first time, where it is listed as Roy (Fire Emblem), likely to tell apart from Roy Koopa.
For being a route where your opponents are sword-wielding characters, Roy does not fight Young Link, Ganondorf, Toon Link, Robin, or Mii Swordfighter, as they are characters on the base roster that use swords, and as DLC characters do not appear in Classic Mode routes of characters from the base roster, we did get a lot of sword users as DLC character, we got Hero, Byleth, Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra, and Mythra, and I don't know if Sora's Keyblade counts as a sword, or if Joker's knife even counts, but we did get a lot of characters that use swords in this game.
