Possible easy and simple fix for crashes, hangs and freezes on a PlayStation 2 (PS2) Slim

This video will show you a possible easy and simple fix if your Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Slim is experiencing crashes, hangs or freezes regularly during gameplay (especially during gameplay with a lot of environmental vibration, such as when playing games such as Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), EyeToy games, a Guitar Hero drum kit or a Rock Band drum set, etc. Essentially what happens, is with time the latches that hold the disc lid in the down and closed position become worn out, causing the lid to elevate ever so slightly under vibration. This causes the PS2 Slim to register that the lid sensor is no longer closed shut and therefore the PS2 Slim sends a halt command to the disc laser and spindle motor, causing your game to hang, freeze, or crash in the process. Simply placing the empty plastic DVD case that your game came in on the disc lid of the PS2 Slim should rectify the problem.
