In the original creation trio - Dialga, Palkia and Giratina represented time, space and antimatter. But each legendary also represented a state of matter. Dialga being solid matter, palkia being liquid matter, and giratina being gas. This is seen through their secondary typing of steel, water and ghost. But there is actually a fourth type of matter called Plasma. Plasma is the stuff that makes stars and our very own sun. The sequel to Pokemon Sun and Moon is rumored to be called Pokemon Stars at the moment. This is very likely due to Pokemon's past naming schemes. So if the next Pokemon is going to revolved around stars (or even have to do with things in the universe) plasma is definitely something that is going to be touched upon as it is the MOST common state of matter in the entire universe. A legendary that revolves around plasma would be perfect for a series called Pokemon Stars and they can also tie up a loose end about the ancient dragon pokemon that was split into Reshiram and Zekrom in the Gen 5 series.
