R-Type III: The Third Lightning - Super Nintendo - Stage 1 and boss gameplay (OSSC) [4k60]
First stage from the excellent R-Type III on SNES, in fact this might just be the best stage in the game with its fast paced use of foreground, sprite scaling and rotating sprites to give some almost 3D looking effects. Captured at line 2x mode at 720x480 using an open source scan converter, Randomised Gaming has edited this video a little different as we took the raw footage them careful scaled it to remove the borders. Let us know if you like this look or not.
R-Type III: The Third Lightning, is one of the best shooters on the SNES and remains one of the best games in the series. Maybe not quite as good as the R-Type Leo arcade, as the later stages are rather dull compared to the first. One aspect you can't fault is the outstanding soundtrack which brings the game to life in a way not seem or heard by any other game in the series. While it did get a port to the GBA, if you see a copy of the GBA version run in horror as it was a crime against gaming. With the port butchering the game in just about every way possible.
