We tackle the final chapter of the Alternative History (AH) in this video.

This is one of the few boss battles where you can steal absolutely nothing, which is a relief actually because there's no point in sandbagging out of merchant pragmatism anymore, and we can just focus on killing things with the resources available.

I found the turn order to be too unreliable in this battle. Sometimes my party gets three consecutive turns, sometimes there's an enemy turn in between - all with the same equipment setup (Stocke and Raynie equipped for defence and HP while Aht for magic and a bit of HP too). I think it might be random to some extent.

Anyway, the Sabretooth Tiger has a diverse arsenal including a powerful physical attack on one character, an MT attack (most likely physical), and some buffs and debuffs. It casts Speed Up on itself sometimes, and I honestly don't notice these moves having any effect whatsoever (def down debuffs definitely do make a difference to damage output though), so it's certainly preferred to him doing damage. Its allies, the floating stones, cast powerful magic, and if they attack one person, a KO is too likely.

We want to take the stones out first (since the tiger is way bulkier), and 1-2 pushes into one of Aht's traps should be enough to take them out. Turn breaking could be necessary in case one of them interrupts a three turn combo, and we definitely want to turn break the tiger and push it back so that its physical attacks don't hurt so damn much.

Done quick and tight, just as this battle requires. If the tiger is permitted to act more (and God forbid if he gets two turns in a row, which he frequently does otherwise, if you let him live with our low levels), the battle gets messy quickly.
