Ratchet & Clank: Part 3: Dudes in Distress in Aridia
Planet Aridia is not a part of the main path to advance the game's plot, which is currently about searching for Captain Quark, but I still highly suggest that you give planets like this a look-through, for they will always contain some kind of tool that WILL help you go through more of the game and its plot.
----------
Ratchet & Clank head to Planet Aridia's Outpost X11 to look for Skid McMarx and his agent. Skid will be nearby where you land.
He and his agent are lost in different parts of this desert planet. You can help Skid out in the meantime by clearing his way towards his spaceship of all of the Sand Sharks you'll be finding towards it. He makes up an excuse of having a sprained ankle.
Kill all 57 Sand Sharks and their 7 generators, and Skid McMarx will give you a new hoverboard: The Gadgetron Z3000!
----------
Skid's agent is on the other side of this place, but you'll have to go through a bit of a facility to reach him.
That brown mud on this planet is quicksand, if you fall into it 3 times in a short amount of time, you're basically insta-killed.
He's grumpy because Skid, his client, is missing and he can't find him. He's deciding to give up on that and make Ratchet his "next Skid McMarx". To do that, you have to win a Hoverboard race in Blackwater City on Planet Rilgar.
If you got Skid's Hoverboard from earlier, you can do this now, but you won't reach Blackwater City until later
----------
There is more I can do on Aridia, but I'm missing some Gadgets. So I'm gonna go on to Planet Kerwan and see what I can do there in Metropolis.
----------
Weapons, Gadgets, and Items are all categorized differently:
- Weapons are just there to help you fight enemies. Sometimes you can freeform, and other times, you need certain Weapons to hit certain enemies easily.
- Gadgets are tools you will pick up over time. They are equipped like Weapons, but they're main usage is to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
- Items are like Gadgets, but work automatically and passively and don't need to be equipped like Weapons or Gadgets. If you have them, they will stick to you and permanently upgrade certain capabilities on you for the rest of the game.
You can equip up to 8 slots worth of Weapons and Gadgets at once for the Quick Select menu. However, be warned as using Quick Select will not pause the game like the sequels allow you to.
