Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Part 71: Tending to More of My Blades
I've just had Rex's team finally enter into the World Tree at Chapter 8, but I realized that I really wanted to play with more side content that this game has to offer, and on top of that, there IS certain things that become available after Rex's group is reformed during Chapter 8.
So then, I take a break from the plot to see more of what other things I can do in this JRPG.
----------
There were some Heart-to-Hearts earlier through the Land of Morytha:
- There is one called "Stronger Than Light", which showed Mythra struggling to remember if Zenobia existed alongside her 500 years ago. You can have Rex take a guess at what Zenobia's life possibly was in the past she was in the past with Mythra.
- Another HtH called "Mythra Vs. Brighid" basically goes through how Mythra and Brighid were battle rivals back in Addam's time, though Brighid's present lack of those memories, as well as her journal explaining how she usually lost her fights against Mythra except for one special time, meant she wanted Mythra how that win happened. Mythra believed such a win never happened against her, and you can choose how Brighid reacts to this.
I tried to reach another HtH in Morytha, but I didn't have enough Field Skills to reach it. Oh well...
An HtH called "Hard Life" in Gormott has Zeke open up his thoughts on his travels, and enjoying the view he and Rex saw of Torigoth. You can have Rex answer him on how much he likes Torigoth.
----------
Many parts ago, I went through a Heart-to-Heart with Ursula in Uraya, which I triggered after sleeping at an inn on that titan with her in the party. She seemed to take interest in music, such as singing, but she was really shy about it.
Go to the fountain in Gormott, and you'll trigger her very infamous Blade Quest: "Bearing Her Soul".
Rex, Ursula, and the rest of their friends saw a Gormotti girl playing a local Gormotti instrument called a Torigonda. She called over Ursula to give it a tried, but she was really shy about it. She needed Beary and the rest of their friends to comfort her about it.
Turns out... Ursula can play the Torigonda pretty well. She was drawing in a crowd that loved her music.
The most particular person that took interest to this was a Nopon named Tipitapi. He saw Ursula's musical skills as an opportunity to turn her into a celebrity on Alrest, and invited her to meet him at Argentum.
Bring her to there, and she'll have to sign a contract. Then Tipitapi can start her lessons.
----------
For Ursula's Blade Quest, you will have to go through Merc Missions that represent different categories of her lessons of hitting it big in the music business. They are split into Vocal, Looks, and Soul Lessons.
She must lead all of these "missions" as Ursula's New Grove. You'll need to do what you can to give her a group that can hasten this process and let her Merc Group complete these missions quicker.
The more lessons you complete, the more Stamps of that category you'll get as Key Items. You will eventually get enough to go through special Merc Missions to further boost her categories, which will eventually lead to higher lessons that give her more Stamps at a time.
I am going to spend the rest of my playthrough going for making sure that Ursula stays pampered and busy with her Blade Quest, which means I won't be using her and her Beary for fights for a while. This is by far the longest Side Quest you can do in this game and completing it is the only way you can increase Ursula's Affinity Chart.
----------
Taking a quick break from taking care of Ursula, I trigger yet another Heart-to-Heart called "Walking Encyclopedia", which stars Adenine looking for a specific history book. She ended up having a conflict with a Nopon named Rododo over the book they were both looking for. Adenine challenged Rododo to a test of knowledge. You can have whoever you used as Adenine's Driver to choose which history of an area they should contest over.
----------
Lastly, Zenobia had her own series of Merc Missions where she tried to hunt down more powerful enemies to test her strength.
Activate the "We Need To Talk" Merc Mission after these Merc Missions, and you'll have to talk to her at Argentum.
Turns out the all of the monsters Zenobia faced in her own past Merc Missions did not satisfy her power enough. She really wanted much more powerful opponents, so she believed she'd be better off sticking with Rex's main group to find them.
And it sounded like they kinda needed to hurry on this, or else Zenobia's boredom will lead her to take out her frustration on her own friends as a part of her test!
Mythra has heard of a beast that was so powerful that it had to be sealed away. Zeke suggested reading up about this beast from the books at Tantal's Theosoir. This will commence the start of Zenobia's Blade Quest "A Real Challenge".
----------
I'll take care of these Blades and others in due time.
