When I was younger, I got this game for the PS2, but this playthrough is based on the Gamecube version since it looks and plays much smoother and cleaner.

I'm starting off with Team Sonic's story, of course!

Sonic the Hedgehog was having fun speeding through a canyon like it was his own playground. Two of his closest friends, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna, caught up to him with the Tornado 2 to give Sonic a holographic letter from that evil Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.

Eggman plans to conquer the world in 3 days, and he beckons Sonic to try and stop him, this time!

Sonic saw this as another opportunity for an adventure, and this time, he brought both Tails and Knuckles along for the ride!

But there are more things in this game that the Tutorial and Omochao didn't bring up.

Certain objects will be in certain stages for your team to interact with.

- There will be cannons to use, and what direction the cannon shoots your team depends on the formation you're on when you all jump into the cannon. Speed Formation often shoots your team at a more forward direction, while Fly-Formation often aims the cannon towards a higher route.

-- However, in Power Formation, you can control the cannon manually, shooting each teammate one-by-one before shooting away the Power-type character last. However, you can only adjust the cannon's aim, but not its arc.

- Some stages will have Bobsled for a team to use. Each time it takes a hit, it loses a teammate from Speed to Power to Fly. If they're all gone, that's instant death.

-- Speed-types control the Bobsled's ability to accelerate and brake, Power-types handle its steering, and Fly-types handle its ability to jump.

If you can hit under a Bobsled's time record, the character you used to start a Bobsled will get a Level Up.

Although this game isn't as direct about it as Classic games, levels in this game are split up like Act based on where they take place. It's just that every regular Act has its own unique name now.

Seaside Hill is an Act 1, while the next level, Ocean Palace, will be its Act 2. After that, it's Act 3 finishes the whole "Zone" off with some kind of boss battle.

Take note of this Act structure, because this will work with how you find certain Special Stages.

There are caged Keys throughout every level. Break one open with a Power-type move, and then hold onto the Key for the rest of the level. You'll lose it if you die, or even take a hit that makes you drop your rings, and it's not something you can just pick right back up afterwards.

In the Act 1s of every setting, the Special Stages you access will just be Bonus Challenges to help you get more 1-UPs. You can collect Power Spheres to increase your Boost Gauge, while also avoiding bombs that will decrease it.

Bonus Challenge Special Stages will also have a Chao section where either a Neutral Chao will drop Power Spheres from its balloon while the Dark Chao next to it will drop bombs.

The Act 2s of every setting will be about what you REALLY need to watch out for: Chaos Emerald challenges, but I'll cover that a bit later.

I said this before, but Heroes is my most versed 3D Sonic game, way more than the Adventure games. I remember trying to tear the game apart by doing things such as getting into routes that certain teams weren't supposed to enter, or trying to manipulate certain enemy to leave behind only my Fly-types.

I might be doing stuff like this as I get through these videos, but not everything!
