Report on the Allwinner A20 Banana Pi OG M1 (That I lost now).
Well, this is a classic chip from Allwinner. It is quite old, from 2012 actually. The time Samsung was shipping twin A15 cores, Allwinner was shipping twin A7 cores. But it is amongst one of the first to decode 4Kp60 H264 with a SoC's VPU.

I couldn't get Cedrus to work on my modern 6.6 kernel and Bookworm. Here is the wiki : https://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi-Cedrus#Known_Limitations

It could be a bit outdated, but I definitely cannot get 1080p through and sometimes even 360p The buffer can't be THAT small right? If the buffer didn't fail, then the pixel format is not supported and we fall back to the CPU somehow. Althrough it *might* work if you downgrade to the older Buster and 5.1 kernels the libva-v4l2-request is known to work on, albeit I don't think it worked well even during that time. Megi's PinePhone docs suggest so.

And so... anyways, the 1GB/s means 1080p is a struggle, making the classic A20 quite inviable, especially if it's strongest thing, 4Kp60 VPU decode doesn't work at all.
