Having returned to the house now filled with vicious lizard-like creatures, Chris uses the last key found in the guardhouse to investigate the last locked rooms within. During the investigation, he finds a memo revealing that the mansion is owned by a local pharmaceutical corporation Umbrella and that someone purposefully lured S.T.A.R.S. there to test the creatures' combat effectiveness. This is further confirmed when Chris gains access to the underground tunnels located below the mansion grounds, finding severely wounded Bravo Team commander Enrico Marini who holds Chris at gunpoint, calling him a double-crosser before being shot dead by an unseen attacker...
