0After witnessing Enrico's death, Chris continues navigating through the underground tunnels, eventually finding a courtyard with a fountain concealing a hidden elevator leading into underground research facility operated by Umbrella with Chris also finding a slideshow that confirms that Umbrella created both zombies and other monsters lurking within the mansion grounds by utilizing a viral agent known as T-Virus with virus having somehow leaked from the facility approximately two months before Alpha Team's arrival, causing all personnel working within it and living in the adjacent mansion to die from the infection and turn into zombies while animal-based T-Virus experiments such as lizard-like monsters known as Hunters and dog-like creatures known as Cerberus broke out of the facility due to lack of supervision as the virus spread, escaping into the surrounding woods and starting to attack the hikers and local residents, thus being responsible for the mysterious deaths in the region that triggered S.T.A.R.S.' investigation in the first place. However, most shocking revelation is made within the slideshow's final frame as Chris sees Wesker in the photo depicting the facility staff, revealing him to have been a traitor mentioned by Enrico shortly before he was shot, implying that Wesker purposefully lured both Alpha and Bravo team into the mansion with intent of manipulating them into providing combat data for Umbrella by fighting the monsters before disposing of them by having them killed by those same monsters...
