Return to Shironagasu Island (Pt 3): Neo's Attempt to Interrogate People Is Interrupted by a Snake
[BLIND LET'S PLAY]
Neo/Ikeda spot a mysterious shadow outside their window, but are unable to properly identify it, and Neneko, having also seen it, flees to Ikeda's room for safety (despite her claiming it was for Ikeda's sake). Ikeda and Neneko then go over what they know so far about the mysterious events happening on Shironagasu Island, and while some ideas are formed there's nothing conclusive that could clearly reveal what is happening, so they decide to continue interrogating the other people on the island for any information that could help them piece together what actually happened during Thomas' murder. Afterwards, they go to sleep, but in the midst of his dream Ikeda sees a horrifying figure reaching out toward him, before immediately waking up.
The next morning, the painting in the hallway allegedly depicting the Demon of Shironagasu Island is found with blood-stained handprints covering it, but what's interesting about the handprints is they only show FOUR fingers rather than five like on a regular human's hands. Not knowing what to make of the state of the painting, everyone heads to the dining hall, where Neneko finds what appears to be a children's storybook, only the contents of said book are as mysterious as they are disturbing. Ikeda sees parallels in the book to the situation he and the other survivors on the island are currently facing, and suspects the book was intentionally left there to establish a "motive" for OTHER people to find for the oncoming bloodshed said book's author likely intends to inflict on the survivors, likely in an attempt to disguise the real reason behind their deaths for whoever arrives on the island for the clean up of their corpses.
Later, Neo/Ikeda and Neneko decide to get testimonies from Gisele and Akira regarding what they were doing leading up to the discovery of Thomas' corpse, intending to find any suspicious or contradictory statements they may make in hopes of identifying Thomas' killer. Gisele doesn't appear to be hiding anything, but in the middle of Akira's interview an unknown perp throws a black mamba into the room where Neo/Ikeda, Neneko and Akira are talking, clearly with the intent to kill them.
Neo/Ikeda are able to slice the snake in half, but with it's dying breath it manages to bite and inject it's venom into Akira. Realizing they only have a VERY short window to try and find an antidote for Akira, everyone begins frantically searching anywhere around the mansion they can that they think they'd be likely to find one...
