[BLIND LET'S PLAY]

After surviving Hanada's attack, Neo/Tomoe are later confronted by Yamaoki and Maeno, who present to Tomoe a media hitpiece that was written to try and discredit her, which is forcing Yamaoki and Maeno's hands to remove Tomoe from the investigation and replace her with someone else. Unfortunately, there is no room for debate, which leaves Neo/Tomoe in a very unfavorable position.

Later, Tomoe and Madoka have a heart-to-heart conversation involving the reason why Madoka decided to join the police force in the first place, and it turns out to be something which Tomoe very much needed to hear.

After THIS touching event, though, an unexpected vistor arrives at the station requesting Tomoe, a man named Sorimachi, a prosecutor who works at Tokyo. Sorimachi, upon meeting with Tomoe, makes the claim that the prosecutors office which Tomoe was planning to hand paperss crucial to the Lowell Inc. investigation is compromised and has Chiba's men working on the inside, and will take all the evidence that Tomoe has gathered and will destroy it, thus ensuring that Chiba's crimes will never be exposed to the public. Furthermore, with the general elections coming up within mere days, the amount of time that Tomoe and Sorimachi has to try and prosecute Chiba is quickly running out, as the elections would serve as a barrier to protect Chiba from any form of legal prosecution. Sorimachi wants Tomoe's evidence from her investigation so he can use the resources of his office in Tokyo to bring criminal charges to Chiba that Tomoe's own jurisdiction would be unable to bring themselves.

The only problem with Sorimachi's story, despite sounding quite believable after listening to it from start to finish, is that Sorimachi himself has absolutely no proof to back up his claims and show that he is indeed someone Tomoe can trust, so at first Tomoe is unsure whether or not to hand any of the evidence over to Sorimachi on the likely chance that he could be yet another malicious actor looking to sabotage the investigation... at least, until Tomoe manages to see a particular photo in Sorimachi's wallet...
