Higurashi Console Arcs (Pt 62): Neo Gains an Ally While Confirming the Identity of the Mastermind
[BLIND LET'S PLAY]
Neo/Tomoe go over the effects of the PC drugs that Rena and Natsumi were taking and how exactly they caused their particular instances of violent, paranoid behavior to manifest. It was also later found out that Hanada had went missing right after Tomoe went to pursue Rena, and coupled with all the information that's been gathered up to this point it was confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hanada was indeed involved in the conspiracy surrounding the PC drug.
Sometime later, Tomoe receives a call from Tsukada, who suddenly asks Tomoe if they could go out and have dinner together. Neo and Tomoe are suspicious as to the timing of the call in relation to recent developments that have been occuring in her investigation, but decides to go anyway and see what happens. It turns out that Neo and Tomoe were both right to be suspicious of Tsukada, who reveals that not only was he also involved in the Lowell Inc. conspiracy that's behind the PC drug, but also that he was sent to silence Tomoe. However, instead of doing this, Tsukada decides to interrogate Tomoe and put her convictions to the test, and once Tomoe understands what he's doing she realizes that for all of Tsukada's cynicism towards the political system that he still desired to fight against the same injustices that affected him and his family growing up. Tomoe confirms as much the more she talks to Tsukada, and by the end of their conversation Tomoe and Neo, much to Neo's surprise, gains a new and unexpected ally, as well as confirmation as to the identity of the man who's been orchestrating the Lowell Inc. conspiracy.
Although whatever celebrations could be had from this particular development end up being caught short, when a very familiar person unexpectedly shows up and ambushes Tomoe and Tsukada, with clear intent to kill...
