The Royal Irish Regiment celebrated Waterloo Day with the presentation of Campaign Medals for their tour in Afghanistan from their Colonel and Chief his Royal Highness the Duke of York. He also presented Elizabeth Crosses to the families of Ranger Aaron McCormick, Ranger David Dalzell and L/Cpl Stephen McKee. The Regiment formed up on parade at Clive Barracks in Ternhill just as their antecedent battalions would have done on the 18th of June 1815 when they faced Napoleons army at Waterloo. Those soldiers injured in Herrick 13 to watch their colleagues receive their medals.
