I had actually cut off my recording after the last time where I managed to kill 7 Mercenaries, but it was a total failure as both Serbin and Jackal escaped. When I went back to my Game, I had it on pause and realized I hadn't gone back to Colonel Kovalsky to see what he would say for failing to kill both leaders. So that is where this recording begins. I discover that this variation results in the Military not turning friendly "green" but remaining neutral "yellow", which is not a viable outcome.

After that I was able to go directly to my Manual Save inside the top floor apartment for quicker takes of trying to do better than my record of 8 kills. It's become my new routine to shoot the 4 rodents down below from the other window. I don't want to be attacked going down the stairs or walking across the plaza again. I did 7 kills on this try. However, I fired earlier on the Ecologist suited Mercenaries, saw Jackal and the other Exoskeleton Merc just stand there momentarily stunned and fired too low to hit them escaping at the doorway. Jackal escaped which is bad. Ideally, I should always take out Jackal and Serbin in the first shot.

On my second try I got 8 kills. I got both Serbin and Jackal in the first round like I should, but I noticed the other Exoskeleton Mercenary got away. Going back to Colonel Kovalsky ( since I did this time, to compare the loot from my other 8-kill Manual Save ) and then made a save afterward. This made me feel better since I was doing so horribly a few hours earlier as shown in the previous video. I guess it was taking me time to warm up and bring my Game up. The third try was a return to bad form as I clearly shot too soon on my second shot and too low on my third shot, only getting 6 kills. What is the most fascinating about this time is, seeing one of the escaping Ecologist Mercs going out the back door, you can see him leaving the building in the rear and then suddenly vanishing. Most likely due to reaching the far limit of remaining on-line. I think this whole scenario was set up so they could escape and go off-line. Imagine how much fun it could be to have to hunt down the survivors somewhere in Pripyat.

My fourth try was my first breakthrough. 9 Kills! Even though my first round took out Serbin but not Jackal, who was miraculously standing after the first round exploded, I did get him on the second round. You can see the other Exoskeleton Merc run out of there between the two shots. When looting the nine dead, I noticed the very last Mercenary had two weapons on him, meaning he was able to pick up a dropped weapon from a companion. Probably Jackal's since he didn't have a rifle on him. Even though this has been the best I have done so far, I noticed Colonel Kovalsky only rewarded me with 10 rounds of SVD ammo and not the usual 30 for getting both Serbin and Jackal. I think this was because I did not kill them both in the first round, despite killing both in the end.

My fifth and final try this recording also got 9 kills. I took out both Serbin and Jackal in the first shot, meaning Kovalsky will reward me with 30 rounds of SVD ammo but once again that sneaky Exoskeleton Mercenary with the Eliminator escaped again. Just like before, my second shot was too soon, and my third shot was too low. I compensated with my fourth shot being made in the hallway to the right where they run to escape. I feel like if I could correct the timing of the second shot, I could get the other Exoskeleton Merc and if the third shot was in the doorway, I believe I could finally achieve the goal of killing all ten of them. I ran this all the way to the end of repairs, dumping loot and getting a final load out with the thought this could be my best unless I get all of them the next time. That would be for another day of trying as it was time to go to bed.
