Saints Row Part 5. Flaring tensions. (New Game)
4Part Synopsis: In another Los Carnales mission, Playa and Dex are interrupted as the group in question are attacking The Row. An ally details how they had Angelo cornered when Victor appeared and saved him, appearing to brush off being shot point blank in the chest.
Heading outside 16 hostile members need to be taken out. Four perched above a freeway, one with armed with an RPG prove the worst to deal with; resulting in two deaths. Having the others randomly drive around in mobile vehicles further drags out the length. On the third try, the task is beaten.
Meeting Troy at the garage, Dex finally discloses the plan at hand. Driving a truck full of Saints, Playa drives to where Los Carnales are operating a drug lab, managing to take the place over. Tensions continue flaring between them and the Columbians as a result. With their drug production crippled, they have since turned to manufacturing weapons. Playa takes on a plant making guns, planting bombs and wrecking the whole structure.
Playthrough Information: This is not a blind let's play. Back on the OG Xbox 360, I messed around with Saints Row here or there. Never beat the game. Never looked up the plot details of anything. Exactly when I stopped playing is unknown, as this was many years ago. If I remember, I'll indicate with specific context in these videos.
My main focus will be the story missions. Side activities aren't a focus. Off camera acts to increase reputation won't be shown either. The first upload is captured on native Xbox 360, every following entry will be on Xbox Series X through backwards compatibility via the digital version. All videos will feature commentary and webcam usage.
About Game: Saints Row is a 2006 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by THQ for the Xbox 360. It was released in North America on August 29, 2006. Set within the fictional city of Stilwater, the single-player story follows a player-created character who joins the 3rd Street Saints gang after they save his life, and helps them rise to prominence by undermining enemy criminal syndicates, while slowly building up his own reputation within the gang.
The storyline is non-linear, and divided into three separate story arcs for each rival gang that the player must defeat. Story missions are unlocked by trading in "Respect" points, currency earned by completing minigames and side-missions. Outside of the main story, players can freely roam Stilwater, consisting of two main islands. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on-foot or by vehicle.
Players can fight enemies using a variety of firearms, and call in non-playable gang members to assist them. An online multiplayer mode allows multiple players to engage in a variety of cooperative and competitive game modes. Saints Row received generally positive reviews upon release, with many critics favorably comparing it to the Grand Theft Auto series. It also did well financially, selling over 1 million copies by the end of 2006. The game's success launched the Saints Row franchise, starting with Saints Row 2 in October 2008.
