Saints Row Part 9. Hostile takeovers. (New Game)
3Part Synopsis: Back at Uncle Will's home, Playa overhears a scheme to steal certain car models to scrap for parts. Intercepting the targets before they can be salvaged, all of them are destroyed. Will and Joseph learn of the news from Donnie, suspecting Lin of not being faithful to their cause, the two discuss their next move.
The Tidal Springs Apartments stronghold is tackled. Housing four sequestered witnesses guarded by Rollerz, everyone is taken out. A five star police response when halfway done ends up assisting in the effort. Two Los Carnales strongholds are next. Cecil Park Drug Lab is attempted with three allies.
Upon destroying the equipment there, a counterattack ensues. Dealing with enemies on the roofs prompts a high ranking lieutenant to get here and killed on sight. The second Charlestown Warehouse involves clearing the place out then defending that position from a full on siege.
Two bosses armed with RPGs almost ruin the whole op. Playa drives with Dex to Angelo's bungalow to take him out. Dealing with a small army of bodyguards, a chase occurs as he runs off. Angelo escapes with the help of a drawbridge blocking further pursuit.
Playthrough Information: This is not a blind let's play. Back on the OG Xbox 360, I messed around with Saints Row here or there. Never beat the game. Never looked up the plot details of anything. Exactly when I stopped playing is unknown, as this was many years ago. If I remember, I'll indicate with specific context in these videos.
My main focus will be the story missions. Side activities aren't a focus. Off camera acts to increase reputation won't be shown either. The first upload is captured on native Xbox 360, every following entry will be on Xbox Series X through backwards compatibility via the digital version. All videos will feature commentary and webcam usage.
About Game: Saints Row is a 2006 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by THQ for the Xbox 360. It was released in North America on August 29, 2006. Set within the fictional city of Stilwater, the single-player story follows a player-created character who joins the 3rd Street Saints gang after they save his life, and helps them rise to prominence by undermining enemy criminal syndicates, while slowly building up his own reputation within the gang.
The storyline is non-linear, and divided into three separate story arcs for each rival gang that the player must defeat. Story missions are unlocked by trading in "Respect" points, currency earned by completing minigames and side-missions. Outside of the main story, players can freely roam Stilwater, consisting of two main islands. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on-foot or by vehicle.
Players can fight enemies using a variety of firearms, and call in non-playable gang members to assist them. An online multiplayer mode allows multiple players to engage in a variety of cooperative and competitive game modes. Saints Row received generally positive reviews upon release, with many critics favorably comparing it to the Grand Theft Auto series. It also did well financially, selling over 1 million copies by the end of 2006. The game's success launched the Saints Row franchise, starting with Saints Row 2 in October 2008.
