If Mary comes off in this clip as a rambling dork, that’s because she is. It’s so funny the way notorious fish enthusiast Mary takes what’s very obviously just her own personal fantasy and projects it onto everyone else. This mental image she gets so excited over of some fishmonger’s assistant getting mobbed with attention at a matchmaking party from women itching to become fish-cooking housewives is so charmingly ridiculous, but I’m sure the viewer who sent in the answer about working part-time at a fish market for 7 years was flattered, and that’s what’s important.
