Always hard to tell with Soya how much is her taking the piss and how much is her genuinely being a huge airhead, but in this case my bets are squarely on both. As always, her ability to come up with this ridiculous stuff is impressive. I like her discussion of the lyrics as well, although this is from the same stream as the MJ clip so she should really take her own advice. 2:12 “Hamada” refers to one of the original singers, Hamada Masatoshi, (the “H” in “H Jungle With t”) who the other singer (Komuro Tetsuya, the “t”) calls ugly in the song lyrics.
2:25 Himiko is a semi-legendary Japanese ruler and shaman who allegedly reigned in an unknown territory between 189 and 248 AD, so this is like somewhere between saying “they had mirrors in Caesar’s time” and “they had mirrors in King Arthur’s time.”
