Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game (PS3) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Ubisoft's 2010 retro-style beat 'em up for the Sony Playstation 3, Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game.
Played through on the medium difficulty level playing as Scott (already leveled up from previous playthroughs). Captured via HDMI from a PS3 slim model with an Xcapture-1 card.
This is easily one of my all-time beat 'em up games, sitting comfortably as an equal with Final Fight and Streets of Rage 2. It's got a fair amount of complexity with its battle system (think River City Ransom) and features countless references to 8-bit classics, including Clash at Demonhead and Super Mario Bros. 2. The comics and movie were great, and this is one of the few games I've played that lived up to the quality of their source material.
And the presentation is the stuff of any 80s kid's wet dreams. It looks and sounds like a hyper amped Neo Geo game. The pixel art is the best I've ever seen in a modern retro-throwback, and the soundtrack deserves a buy from iTunes without any hesitation!
Please note that there are a few hitches in the game that were not part of the video encoding - during some of the screen transitions, the game seemed to be a bit slow in loading so you'll occasionally hear or see a skip or glitch. The video directly reflects how the game played on the PS3.
