Sea of Stars - Ch. 31 - The Kingdom in the Clouds
0So last time, after running a couple errands, we made our way to the Skyward Shrine. There we ascended into a new area, which looks very, very similar to kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger. I wonder what wonders awaits us here?
CHAPTER 31 - THE KINGDOM IN THE CLOUDS
Sorry for another short chapter, but I've come this far to abandon my chapter-based format. Now that our town of Mirth has someone running the Fishing Hut, I guess it's time to start getting into the fishing. At the very least, I'll start visiting the fishing areas we pass by.
Right here we have 'Skybound Lagoon'. There's only three fish here: Sky Urchin, Cloud Skate and Ninja Starfish. None of them pose much of a challenge if you know how to fish properly. You'll notice this rectangle of light that moves from side to side as I try to reel in the fish? You need to keep the fish in this zone in order to reel it in. If you attempt to reel it in while you're not in this zone, you risk breaking the line.
I grab the three fish here and continue to Cloud Kingdom. The place we need to go to is right at the end, so it's perfect for exploring. Garl's visions lead him to believe that they need to ask a council here for permission to access the Sea of Stars. More on that in a sec.
You'll notice the super tall people here. It's a bit off-putting, but I guess it's fine. Immediately after the first person you see is an inn. Here you'll find a Question Pack and the pirate band playing music. Talk to the innkeeper and he'll hook it up with an area for you. Even if you don't need to rest, you should do it, as it will take you to an area with a Rainbow Conch.
Additionally, there's a shop where you can get a new weapon for Zale, a Music Sheet for the band and the recipe for Peach Strudel, lol. More importantly there's a treasure chest here that contains a new weapon for Serai. Now we can proceed to go talk to the council.
Garl's really had a good arc in this game. I like that it's him who addresses the council. Anyway, Garl will begin to formulate a plan based on his vision. He asks the council to let his friends access the Sea of Stars. In exchange, Garl offers to wake the Sleeper (the giant dragon) and then calm it's tormented soul.
Garl's plan involves baking a massive loaf of bread using the elements, which will supposedly work somehow. The main plan is:
Zale will go to the Air Elemental Skyland.
Serai will go to the Nightmare Sea.
Valere is going to the Volcano (soon to be Kiln Volcano).
Garl is going to go get Malkomud, the mole that could use earth magic.
Everyone splits up, including Resh'an who literally splits in three. This should be interesting. But for now, it's time to take a break.
